POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A terrible helicopter accident in Australia. When I used to fly after my cockpit checks the final check was making sure it was ‘all clear above and behind' you prior to take off. This is a tragedy that should never have happened.

Brilliant depiction of a tragedy that we never want to happen. So deeply poignant. Cleverly written.

Once again, I reiterate how much I've been learning from the poems and poets on this site. The use of Poet's Notes sometimes brings a clearer understanding of the poem (and poet/poetess) . Although it's a sad poem, I'm glad to have learned that much more.
