A Bard's Song Poem by Ayman Parray

A Bard's Song

Rating: 5.0

I am the voice of reason,
With songs for every season
Summer, winter, autumn and rain,
Songs of hope, love, sorrow and pain
I sing for kings, I sing for clowns,
From great palatial halls,
To mean streets, villages and towns
I sing of love's memory so sweet,
The gentleman who swept the lady off her feet
The princess who slept a deathly sleep,
The prince who woke her with a kiss deep
I sing of the knight, his mighty deeds,
And the rogue, who right before his death pleads
I sing of the man, his strength in his hair,
The pain and suffering the son of Zeus had to bear
The lovers, their families wouldn't stand the sight of each other,
And only in death could they be together
I sing for the seasons, the applause, the coin and the crown,
I would gladly toss aside all my songs of renown,
Just to sing a bit more for the children who frown

This poem has a magical effect on the reader who is taken back in time when the kings had bards to read poems in their palaces. Poet is truly a beautiful soul who sings of everything on earth to regale his audience.
