I came to say a goodbye
to an old friend,
I have seen occasionally
through the years.
I know that she is still here,
and will be even after
the building has been pulled down.
I have felt her presence
around all the time,
even had the pleasure
of seeing her once or twice.
However, today is the day of reckoning,
and soon I will be moving on.
Therefore, I have come to say a goodbye
to that ghostly friend of mine.

David, I am aware of the context in which you write, and this is poignant, rather beautiful, tragically wistful. Yet there is optimism, for I know you will be moving onwards and upwards. And I wish you the very best. t x

A gentle piece, personalising a piece of long remembered architecture methinks. Sad when the door has to be closed on what has been. And yet, another door will surely open on a new adventure. Lovely piece of nostalgia. love, Allie xxxx
Spooky one David. Funny how one feels a presence in certain places and situations. Interesting write, interesting storyline. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
