A Jewel Poem by Vidyadhar Durgekar

A Jewel

Rating: 4.6

Birth from mother’s womb,
Blessed with heavenly bloom,
Signalling arrival where I belong,
With sorrow and sometimes a song.

Childhood of innocence,
Like fresh fragrance of a scent,
Spreading joy just with presence,
Amongst all family and friends.

During life’s inevitable travel,
Experiencing many marvel,
Happiness is like a jewel,
In the crown of life and death cycle.

This is a 'gem' that continues to sparkle brighter from its birth. Very nicely composed, Vidyadhar.

true...in life what is cherished and valued is happiness only... if life is a crown happiness is the jewel... and on death one is dethroned... loses crown and least to say about jewel... a poem short in construction but elaborate in content... a ten for vidyadhar

Nice work done here.. it is true 'happiness ' is the jewel in once 's life and without its presence life is dead as a rotten piece..

Yes I agree; A nice composition. Also as unrevealing as you. Thanks for sharing; a nice welcome back from a long trip back to the norm.

While looking beyond perfections Happiness stars dwelling within It’s a reward to that wise man Who appreciates what he has Than running after what not. Good subject. Thank you.

Yes your last two lines epitomise the the basic truyh of life! Happiness though short lived, always makes up in height, what it lacks in length! - Raj Nandy

This has a sort of wise innocence to it, beautiful.
