A Phantom Between Words Poem by Julian Salvacion

A Phantom Between Words

Rating: 4.8

Calm me oh! Moonshine!
Your son at rest before your arms
Amass the tears and the mourning of your child.
Embrace me by your breath
As I speak to you
Of reasons, by your waters I shelter.
Caress me in stillness
Carry me to the horizon
Blanket your infant by your curtain sky.
Shield me with your golden eyes
From the pale season of the winter
Defend my innocence by your spring
Before the dullness of your fall.
Color the fields of wheat in the summer
Conduct the tress being played by the wind
As I renew my vow to my dearest
As I rise from the bosom of your dust.
Hail! To the goddess of your myths
Music orchestrated by the rivers and the lakes
As you silent them when the night falls.
Torch my walks in life
By the twinkling of your jewels
Let it be my blaze when the king sun retires.
Write an opus for the one I love the most
Inscribe the notes from the stones that never fades
Paint it by the bloods of the flowers.
Shelve the music to the spirit of your mouths
Seal it before me, for unto you I submit.
And on the third cycle of the 18th day of your first name
Let the green grasses sing it for me
By then I should see her one last time as a stranger
And to you I promise I shall rise from my ashes!

I agree with Fiona, this is very well written and tells of a journey through the life you have been given. When the Lord walks wiht you, you have nothing to fear. A 10 for this, and thank you for sharing. Hugs, Barbara

Hi! I’m Eddie Roa and I just got in to this website. By chance I came across your name in the list of poets and read some of your works. Your poem is melodious so much like Moonlight sonata or Claire de Lune. I like the easy flow of words and the delightful imagery. Good write. I have posted some of my poems today and a few days earlier. My style ranges from light to dark poetry (modern enough but not postmodern) and some Japanese verse forms like haiku, senryu and tanka. I hope you will bother to check out my work. Thanks and happy writing.

A soft and sublime dialogue with the nature! A poem which emphasizes the link between the God and the man through the elements! .......and there is a yearning for someone departed.....or someone known unknown, is not clear! To be read again and again to fathom the intent philosophy of the instant. A beautiful soulful stirring! Lovely, little sad.
