If this poem was in quatrains you could mistake it as an excerpt from the Rubaiyat. Excellent verse with Eastern flavor.

In the pitcher of the old wine I see the poetic beauties of the classic Urdu poets and the 'SAKI' pouring the divine drinks through her intoxicating eyes and its hang over never comes to an end. CP

This poem is a very fine tale, epic lines about an universal matter. The inebriation of the wine is the same one of the girl.

Dear Sadiq, Theme of the poem is simply super excellant. But you made it very narrative. Do not say everything in poetry.I liked the last part most. You could have shorten this piece to more poetic.

thank you for your comment which lead me to the first on your list of poetry - just how much of that wine were you drinking as you wrote this intoxicating piece :) ... a wonderful read. Life is too short to drink bad wine.... Thanks, Tia

your poem is graced with beautiful metaphor...life itself is a cup...the allusions are great...deep thoughts engraved...the pitcher and cup will never be dry.....
