A Smile Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

A Smile

Rating: 5.0

A Smile

My mind swims with thoughts of his magnetic charms.
His captivating smile created a longing to be in his arms.
When we were in the same classroom, I felt a radiant glow.
When he gazed into my eyes; motion and time began to slow.

With unfamiliar emotions, I hesitantly smiled at him in return.
Soon uneasiness subsided and the fires of love began to burn.
With ease and perfection our love for one another heightened.
Our hearts were filled with ecstasy; the future was brightened.

Each wonderful day was enhanced by the words, 'I love you.'
A floating sensation lifted my spirit as I said, 'I love you too.'
With each passing day, the months grew into a treasured lifetime.
I will remember with a smile, how we made that majestic climb.

Your choice of words, mostly adjectives (magnetic, majestic, captivating, floating, radiant, treasured) and and other words (swims, fires) adds a lot of motion and meaning which makes reading the poem very enjoyable.
