A Snake Is A Snake Poem by Juan Olivarez

A Snake Is A Snake

Rating: 5.0

A snake is a snake is a snake
He cannot change his scales.
Hypnotic eyes in a clear blue lake,
Or out on a rocky trail.

Beware the Vipers, from the pit
Only one will sound a warning.
A temporary lapse, and there's a hit
It might be your last morning.

The moral of the story is thus, when walking the desert through rocks and brush, if you want to remain alive, take along Samuel Colt, in size 45.
