Afternoon Dreams - Poem by Michael P. McParland
Afternoon dreams of you and me
being together and doing fun things.
Rather going for walks or out to lunch,
just sitting on the couch cuddling so close
it wouldn't matter what we were doing
because as long as I'm with you
I'll always be happy.
Afternoon dreams of my precious dove
and all of the love I hold for her.
I would give anything to at least talk right now,
to share with each other all of
our hopes, feelings, and thoughts.
I long so much to read your words
and hear your voice.
I want to tell you directly I love you so much.
Beautiful afternoon dreams of my sweet Angel dove
and caressing your cheek while I hold you so close,
then push your hair back so I can gaze
upon your beautiful face in full then
give you the sweetest kisses you could ever hope for.
I would then just thank you so much for
all of your love and all that you do.
I would thank you so deeply for just being you.
Beautiful afternoon dreams of you and me
just being together and sharing various things.
It doesn't matter what as long
as I'm sharing whatever we're doing with you.
I want to share my whole life with my Angel Queen.
I want these dreams to be real with you my sweet dear,
I want them to be soon because I so deeply love you.
