She put her small umbrella in the side of her bag,
Folded, flap wrapped and buttoned.
The umbrella's handle protruded out,
As its length was a bit bigger than the bag's.
She left a few inches gap at one side of the zip
To allow for this clearance.
There was no rain forecast, yet she carried the umbrella.
‘Twas, as if, an assurance of security,
Against rain, against sun. She kept the bag beside her seat.
As she gently held the protruding handle,
She gratefully remembered another umbrella of her life;
Her dad, her best friend, who still invisibly hovers overhead.

She gratefully remembered another umbrella of her life; Her dad, her best friend, who still invisibly hovers overhead... Ah, these lines bring the focus back on umbrella, her sole support, the old one no more, now hovering overhead. Beautiful.
ExcelleExcellent poem. I wonder how can any body get invisible idea now a days using an umbrella.

Yet she carried the umbrella! ! ! Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
A touching piece of poetry about........creatively illustrating using the umbrella. Losing our umbrella or umbrellas in life, we are not protected and feel safe in storms. Wondefully presented!
Thanks for stopping by and picking my poem for a read, Aqua Flower. Much inspired by your appreciative comment.

There was no rain forecast, still she carried an umbrella for protection purpose. You are very right. We have many invisible umbrellas. We should feel these basing upon our inner awakening. This poem has deep insight. This is amazing sharing....10
