Anderson Dccxlvi Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Farewell, my love
But don't turn around
If you do, you'll find the tears
That have made a chasm you can't cross
Leave and forget about me
Except maybe that beautiful June afternoon
When we spent the day just walking hand in hand
Don't turn back to find me
For our love affair was brief
And it would end before the summer began
For you knew you couldn't stay
As you search for someone else
I'll remain alone remembering
That late spring afternoon
Until the beginning of winter's hold
