Apple!
Seductive mystery in the Garden of Eden:
Fruity red, sensual, ripe,
In erotic passion to tempt for sin—
Oh! Apple, sweet temptation!
You by God created with intention:
Sacred knowledge...
Carnal pleasure culpable of Life!
Your poem offers a revisionist view of the story of Adam and Eve, which is certainly one of the oldest stories most people read. Your poem raises questions by suggestive phrases, SACRED KNOWLEDGE/CARNAL PLEASURE. When Clarence Darrow asked W. J. Bryant at the Scopes Trial, what was Adam and Eve's sin, Bryant a Protestant said, SEX. But the priests taught us in grade school it was disobedience. With such disagreement, you should write your own which you have done. Check my poem IN THE BEGINNING (AN ALTERNATIVE ACCOUNT) - shameless self-promotion!
Very compelling and moving. Your words aptly convey what you are attempting to express. Well done.

Oh! Apple sweet temptation! You, by God created with intention; Sacred knowledge... Carnal pleasure culpable of Life! .....sacred knowledge and carnal pleasure are meeting together here though they have contradiction each other. A brilliant expression.
