Arrest Poem by Deborah Cromer

Arrest

Rating: 5.0

No voice, no chance to be heard, nothing but despair
A situation of evilness from a man who just DID NOT CARE
My life, my freedom, ALL of my love, hope and dreams
Blown apart and massacred, ripped apart at the seams
Alcoholism is destructive, destroying people, it's deadly as meth
Inside it numbs and kills slowly, this silently-painful, living death
My sky is gone, my dreams are black and burned
Living with an alcoholic, lessons have been taught and learned
People who drink and drink too much, words cannot be trusted
Their brain cells are corroded, rotting, brittle and rusted
Depression crushes peace and my life has been sucked out dry
Life, love, future, everything I was promised, was only a lie
