As If To Feast Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

As If To Feast

Pettiness has taken over.
Sitting more fixed and prioritized.
On the top of wishes listed.
Yet the numbness of this wish gets.
More dumb to keep it.
Prioritized.
In minds deciding that a kept pettiness.
Is envied.
Or more delicious.
Than a quiet and peaceful existence.
One decides.
Is in no need to put it anywhere.
But kept to leave in one's mind residing,
Prioritized and away...
From pointless decisions made everyday,
By the ones choosing which pettiness...
Will be theirs to pick.
And select it wished.
As if unable to get enough of nonsense.
