Asthma Poem by Daya Nandan

Asthma

A chronic inflammatory disease of the human airway,
Leaving most breathless without words to say,
Wheezing, coughing and breathlessness each time,
Attacks of bronchospasm occur with mucous and slime,

Chest tightness upon exposure to the allergens inhaled,
That could kill in time if all control measures have failed,
A disease spawned of genetics and environmental pollution,
Uncurable but controllable so let control be your solution,

So i urge you both parents and people living with this disease,
To take treatment seriously, don't treat it like its a breeze,
It's a serious disease that progressively worsens if uncontrolled,
Especially if you don't avoid triggers like allergens and cold,

Use medication as prescribed your doctor, take preventive moves,
Make a healthy change in lifestyle so that the prognosis improves,
Always carry your medication with you in case the need for it arrives,
Proper treatment and management of asthma can save millions of lives!

My son had asthma, but outgrew it as a tennager. Turnips are said to help asthma, bronchitis and sore throats. Horseradish and other herbs can help too.
