Once more it begins
My mind focused
On the task
at hand
Ready?
Muscles tightening
The gathering up
of Both mind
And body
Go!
With every ounce
Of strength and
Determination
I make the
Charge
The obstacle looms
Yet the distance
Shortens while
I push on
Steadily
Uncertainty dawns
As I draw nearer
This hurdle
In my
path
Now the moment
Final effort is
Demanded
I give my
All
No!
Failure!
All was not
Enough to leap
The dreaded hurdle
Exhausted I subside
Exhaling in defeat
Coming to a rest
Wheels against
The Curb
Dedicate to all those who daily challenge such 'hurdles'
Mary, no matter how defeated you feel about such hurdles and I know quite a number of people in predicaments such as these. No one is a failure as long as they try. Another brilliant poem. Top marks and thanks for sharing this my friend. David

I was picturing an athlete right up to the last part, but then there are many types of heroism.
Excuse (and thank you for) the plagarism due to the exhaustion of mental exercise.... love/hate; love/hate this! ! ! !
What Angie said. And.... admiration. t x
Mary, I love this.... it had me willing you on to the last. I wonder if I might reproduce this in our local MS Newsletter, would this be OK with you? Rob
