Its cold, it's so windy
I go about dangling alone
Do they think, I am easy?
And to such gusts prone?
In earthy hues are reeling
Tinged and droopy leaves
They hold not my feelings
desolate are lives sieves
Longing days spent on lies
Tied to twine of words
Sighing I look! to the skies
Not to savor swooping birds
go about a lonely life
seemingly abuzz secure
Glide on tiles and strife
mindful of a slippery floor
Life's loaded hues, colors
dull and ordinary its days
By side walks bloom flowers
Along cobbled paths and ways

Autumn Leaves! ! ! An ode on a season, a celebrated & much debated topic in the poetry of all climes & cultures...sometimes taken as the season of barrenness if discussed as a foil for Spring, this is the misconception that compels Keats to ask the question: Where are the songs of spring? Ay, where are they? Think not of them, Thou hast thy music too... Ode To Autumn by Keats Autumn poems are usually noted for their imagery lucid composition, descriptive & picturesque, a loud appeal to the senses...life's colors...earthy hues....beautiful really. Here the last stanza is arresting having the same appeal we see in Auguries of Innocence by Blake: Joy & Woe are woven fine, A Clothing for the Soul divine; Under every grief & pine Runs a joy with silken twine. a lovely nature verse! ! !
