Oh the tower. I actually did a study many years ago on this when writting out a psychology paper. I never considered this destruction so much as a literal changing of languages as much as I did harmony/unity. Imagine if you will that at one time the universal language was a higher connection that had us all on the same level communicating through our collective consciousness. You could say telepathy, that would be one way to describe this. And though there might have been an actual tower I look at it as more of a figurative one in that something happend to us as a whole that cause a breakdown in our communication where we were no longer connected but we fell apart as fragmented pieces of a whole image. You could liken that to someone having a traumatic experience and their mind breaking off into fragments creating multiple personalities within their imagination but in this case on a grand scale, a universal scale. This poem reminds me of that. Maybe if we could all just be silent at the same time together in unity something magical would happen. Even a vast majority of people commiting an act in unison would cause a stir within the atmosphere that we could all feel I am sure of it. Anyways not to rant any further but this poem says much in its compact frame and I really enjoyed it because it has a message to convey and it makes one ponder what that message is. If you get a chance there is a band by the name of TOOL they are a bit esoteric/psychological/spiritual in their own ways and they wrote a song callled schism many years ago. It's a great song and it also speaks on the tower of babel. You can find it on youtube if you ever desire to check it out. Hope you don't mind artsy hard rock? Anyways, Great poem!

The voice of the heart has a deafening silence when awakened... at times so surprising as to cause the tongue to trip and fall... :)

I took some time off to relax and even nap. The weather here in Minnesota in late summer is heavy and humid, not at all invigorating. But your poems are invigorating. They also strike me as riddles. Babel is the fable of multiple languages which divide us humans. But the language of the heart, being non-verbal, transcends the situation. So heart-to-heart communication is more expressive than vocal speech. And thus there is no real impediment to communication. I don't think I understated your meaning. Did I overstate it?
