खूबसूरत तितलियाँ

तितलियाँ परों पे उड़ते खूबसूरत जीव हैं,
जीवन है जिनका एक हफ्ता या अधिकतम दो हफ़्ते,
ब्रशनुमा पैरों वाली तितली तो आठ माह तक जी सकती है,
आप माने या न माने, इनकी फुर्ती व सक्रियता अल्पकालिक है,
क्या यह जीवन जीवंत नहीं? दिलकश रंगों से भरपूर खुशियों के क्षण!
तितलियाँ कोमल तथा कमनीय जीव हैं,
भोली भाली, डंक मारतीं न काट खातीं, न ही बदला लेतीं हैं,
रंग बिरंगी तितलियों के रूप निराले उनकी रक्षा करने में सक्षम हैं,
कीटभक्षी जैसे पक्षी, मेंढक, छिपकली से चपलतापूर्वक अपनी रक्षा कर सकती हैं,
बैठ के पत्तों के नीचे छुप कर अंडे देती व उनकी रक्षा करती हैं.
तितलियाँ स्वभाव से ही घुमंतू होती हैं किसी एक जगह न टिकती हैं
ब्लू टाइगर नामक आकर्षक तितली हर मौसम में रह सकती है
खुशनुमा तितलियाँ होशियार भी हैं जो अति शीत व भारी वर्षा में सुरक्षित रह सकती हैं,
ब्लू मोरमोम्ज़ तो दक्षिण भारत से उड़ती उड़ती मुंबई की ओर वृक्षों की बहुतायत वाले हरित क्षेत्र में आ जाती हैं,
प्यारी तितली! काश, कि मैं तुम जैसी होती!
ख़ुशी से टीलों-पर्वतों को उछल कर पार कर पाती,
जंगलों व घाटियों के फूलों में इठलाती रहती,
सदा मजे से उड़ा करती, लहराती, स्वछंद हो कर नाचत

Butterflies are beautiful winged beings,
Blues that may live only for one or two weeks,
Brush footed butterfly may live for eight months,
Believe it or not, they have only a short life of lively movements,
But, isn't it a vibrant life? Full of fascinating hues of joyful moments!
Butterflies are gentle, graceful creatures,
Benign in nature, they do not sting, bite or fight back,
Bright butterflies have various protective adaptations,
Brave creatures that escape predators like birds, frogs and lizards,
Banking and hiding under the leaves to lay their eggs for protection.
Butterflies move and migrate from one place to another,
Blue Tiger butterfly, so fascinating, adapting to weather conditions,
Beaming butterflies that cleverly avoid extreme cold and heavy rains,
Blue Mormons flying from South India to Mumbai's wooded terrains
Beautiful Butterfly! I wish, I were You!
Bouncing on the hills and mountains with glee,
Beaming with the flowers of woods and valleys,
Bubbly always, flying, gliding, dancing so free!

This is the first time that a poem of mine has been translated into another language, That makes it very special for me. Just do not know how to thank you Rajnish ji. All i can say is that i am most humbled and grateful. Remain blessed always.
Thank you so very much, Geeta ji, for the sentiments expressed about this translation. But, I would not hesitate to tell that this particular work was not a cake walk for me. It was rather a challenge going by the finely nuanced description of a butterfly- its beauty, its life and its activities.
The more i read the translation of the poem, i am fully convinced that the translation is better than the original poem. Hindi is such a beautiful language, Rajnish ji you are a Master in it. The words, vocabulary and the stylised way it is presented, i feel the translation is simply marvellous.
What you have written about this translation shows your own stature as a great poet of undisputed merit. This translation cannot take away the spellbinding aura of the original work. Further, like any other living language, Hindi can also do wonders if handled sensibly and used with proper care.
