Poetry,
Music, breeze, trees,
Full of melodious leaves,
Sea, Sun, Sky,
Clouds dreaming by.
River waters,
Pregnant with words,
Feeding the Earth,
Flowing the mind.
Guidance, motherly touch,
Flowered Fields,
That we love so much,
Ancient vineyards, reddest wine,
Poetry,
Heart of hearts,
Where life starts,
Eternal love of mine.

THIS IS A POEM ABOUT TENDING ONE'S GARDEN, AS VOLTAIRE ARGUED AT THE END OF CANDIDE. I referred to this way of doing good and living right in my comment on one of your responses. Voltaire's thesis is still valid but his explanation of it is dated and unhelpful. YOU and YOUR POEM have found the heart of that thesis. It's about asppreciating the earth for its beauties, other humanbeings for their goodness, and poetry and the arts for their vision. It's a kind of natural supernaturalism (a phrase used by the later Romantic writers in England) . Thanks Sandra for giving us our anthem in our movement to redeem the age before it's too late.
