Standing on the beach at sunset
As the sun begins to disappear
Setting the horizon a fiery glow
We hold each others hand
Feel the salty freshness from the sea
Wafted over us by a cool evening breeze
Slowly we walk along the sands
Leaving the old world behind
Just you and me
Keeping an eye open
For any treasures
We might stumble across and find
The stillness of the twilight
As the sun sets in the west
The hiss of the gentle breaking waters
Arms around shoulders now
Getting closer to whisper in your ear
Because our beginning starts here

There are many treasures to be found in life and a walk beside the sea with the one you love is one of the best of them. Thank you david I enjoyed this poem. Bob
Looking for treasures, when the greatest treasure is already in their hands! Beautiful poem David.
A rather blissful feeling flows through this very soft and serene poem. I picture myself in the setting and it feels soooo good. Hmmm Thankyou David that was really nice, what a wonderful way to start my day, umm ---Fabulous poem----Melvina---
What a beautiful beginning to love watching a sunset on a beach together. What a marvelous love story you've woven here. Am smiling as I type this having just a short while ago watched a beautiful sunset on this heaven of an Island.....alone, yes, but still amazing and calming and so thankful to just have seen. You have a spectacular way of telling a story that one can relate to in at least a part of if not the whole.A gift for sure......mm.xo
