Birdsong - Poem by Uriah Hamilton

In your love,
I spoke child-like prayers
And felt protected.

On your heart softly
I slept in tender dreams
And collected your kisses
Like rose petals and wishes.

From your reassuring voice,
I heard birdsong
And was happy.

You are right - powerful love is like that...beeing innocent and fragile and great and small -a poem that has escaped from the nest...painfully beautiful..Pia (Report) Reply

If you're not well-loved, you should be and shall be - wait for it. Romance lives on in my friend, Uriah... (Report) Reply

A delightful poem Uriah. Lovely to read. I notice it is written in the past tense, that makes me sad!
