It does not affect your health,
It does not affect your wealth,
Twice a year every year,
Or at least once a year,
Donate your blood my dear,
No fear, no fear, yes no fear,
You'll see two wings with your arms,
On your head a crown of charms,
High very high in the blue sky,
With the angels when you will fly,
The sky will ask who this is,
Earth will reply my son you kiss,
He donates his blood and lives he saves,
I give birth to both angels and the knaves.
i wanted to give blood this week, but the bloodmobile was down and did not show up! so i just walked back home and jabbed my arm with a sewing needle, and it felt ALMOST as good. BUT i did not get to eat the sweets they offer donors. (OK! i was kidding about the sewing needle.) i would give as often as they wanted me to, but my home-boss limits me to every four months! i give whole blood, but years ago i used to 'do' pheresis, during which the vampires (i mean technicians) would harvest white cells, or platelets, or plasma and give the rest back to me, via a second needle in my other arm. it takes longer, but a donor can give more often. thanks, Akhtar, for the plug for blood donations! it is so easy to give so much! (usually) hopefully the bloodmobile will be down the street, as scheduled, next week. bri :)
A Beautiful poem spreading a great message on Blood Donation. Very true said, it neither affect health or wealth. On the contrary it will save many lives. Loved reading it.
Wow what an aweinspiring poem with a realistic compassionate message! Great to read u again sir!
This is indeed a lovely poem, serving its purpose so well.... spreading the message loud and clear! Yes, blood donation is an angelic act. When we donate our blood, we give a new lease of life to someone who desperately needs it. It neither affects our health nor brings on us any loss, but serves both the donor and the recipient! A 10
Akhtar, This is a magnificent poem...a reminder and a call to social action. Brilliant.
