Inherited wings to soar through the sky
To fly by ego spirited winds gracefully suspended in lies
Judged by the creatures on the Earth damned only to wonder
What could life be like while in the midst of tremblin thunder
Jealous of the mystery they planned the bird to be history
And made sure this to be the way his flight could never take place
He’s fluent and with chaste he steadily carries himself
Not thinkin that his fellow animals was plottin his death
Occasionally they’d test out reason to bring him down from the sky
And try to lure him in, but he had a different vision of life
His eyes stayed in the direction that his instinct had taught
And nothin would distract him not even the gifts that they bought
Until they realized his dreams so now they’re turnin the page
“Its all the rage the surge is laid inside of this glorious cage
See-in the image of his ambition on an artificial plane
The bars shut so he’s in pain and now he’s goin insane
For years I used to love the thought of seein him in the air
But he’s no longer there it seems that there’s nobody that cares
I feel empty inside my heart believing that they clipped his wings
He used to sing, but I tell you envy is a terrible thing
I searched for years to find that light that used to brighten my day
Locked in a cage obstructed in the most usual way
Stuck for years ridiculed by everybody it seems
But I released him cause I’ll never let them hinder my dreams
