Chosen - Poem by LIALA dRESDEN
Would that I might always be
That age I've chosen in my mind
The age between youth and not
When I can borrow from both.
Not to be saddled with childish choices
Nor questioned with health of mind
But considered mature with senses
Of what was and is yet to come.
Though lines belie my mind's choice
And movement slower than before
I well remember and have picked
The age I'd like always to be.
For me that is thirty eight.
