City Limits Poem by Kewayne Wadley

City Limits

Rating: 4.5

I'll walk down the intersection
Towards the eyes in wait.
The Cars, zoom by, their horns looming in the distance.
Each step could be my last, at any given moment.
Relying on faith. Placing one foot in front of the other.
Inside I feel the rush of something I've never felt before.
A feeling of anxiousness as I approach faraway eyes in wait.
They zoom, passing in both directions.
The cars that come as obstruction.
Reflecting each others mirrors.
Inching closer towards the arms that swing freely.
Walking along the bold yellow lines.
No longer broken in pieces.
The lines that paint the street.
I'll continue to walk towards the wind
Facing the eyes that stare back at me.
Will they be kind.
Will they know the harsh reality that comes from either direction
Zooming pass without a care.
Those eyes that stare deep into mine
As the miles aren't long now
Walking down the intersection.
Hoping that I arrive at my destination soon

Relying on faith.... very true, we must have strong faith, it's a precious gift.
