There's a place in space of beautiful blue,
a galaxy cluster serene,
remote from the Earth, yet within our view
as seen on distant cosmic screen.
Astronomers call it ‘relaxed and calm',
the very first they ever knew,
so far away, seeming like soothing balm
of a lapis lazuli hue.
Over eight billion light-years from our orb
where battles of willfulness rage
and trivial matters tend to absorb
lies this seemingly peaceful stage
on which benevolent lives may perform
their parts in harmonious sphere
and voyagers need not weather a storm
for enlightened shores to appear,
or so I imagine it might be there
in that heavenly-looking site
enjoyed by beings awake and aware,
where my daydreams have taken flight.
What comes around goes around, so they say,
in more than an orbital way.
Who knows what scenarios are at play
or karmic effects may hold sway?
The blueness in setting velvety dark
with a golden light at its core
enkindles the fire of reverie's spark
beyond borders of evermore.
Aye might I arise and go to that isle,
as Yeats in his poem expressed,
a celestial Innisfree to beguile,
when earthly travails are at rest?
Beautifully done! The very best poem I have seen on this website in quite some time!
Loved this wonderful poem that is constructed on the platform of W. B. Yeats' The Lake Isle of Innisfree. Beautifully written!
