Could It Be?
The repeating of it mundane
even striking your head off concrete
gives no release
for a mesmerised mind
can not function with untruths
indulgence can sometimes
transcend ideas into life
The heart is wanting
willing,
to let people in
but,
the mind is always asking
Are you sure?
when betrayal has hit home hard
for a guilty mind
surrenders only lie's.
Could it be possible
for a few simple truths
to hold the key, and
release this captured mind.

Wow poetic questioning muse. I like the way it ponders life n trust questions. Thumbs up, . Nice to read from your pen again, I hope u will too my latest titled 'my wee special guest'
Good questions, Annette. I wish I had asked them of myself when I was young before decisions were made or, worse, decisions were not made. There are people who claim they wouldn't change a thing about their life which I guess means they lived perfect lives. I don't believe that could be. The more we ask questions about our choices the more wise we will be....Well, supposedly. We need to let people into our hearts but the moment we do our happiness can be in their hands and not ours. Quite a risk. Well done write. You've made this reader have some thoughts, some uncomfortable, some almost verging on the wise. That means your poem is a very worthwhile and productive write. 10, of course.
A very thoughtful and intelligent poem, Annette. Definitely in my favourites' list

I would like to translate this poem
A really good poem, trust can be quite a fickle mistress as people as a generalization have a habit of letting you down at some point.
