Curse Of War Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Curse Of War

Politicians never learn
Claiming war is the answer
Forgetting those who pay in blood
Lives cut short, remembered by a poppy.

War achieves misery and death
Widows, widowers, orphans
Rows of crosses in foreign fields
Marking where loved ones lie.

No greater evil than war
Destroying nation's precious flowers
Cities in rubble where death abides
Hearts and minds broken, souls tormented.
