Deserving Of Garlands Poem by Denis Mair

Deserving Of Garlands

Rating: 5.0

She causes me to peer through twilight air
I have patience to make out faint outlines
She lends delight to shimmering ripples
For I have watched highlights in her hair
I am amazed by all the signs I recognize
From an arrow's flight away
I discern her swing and sway
Elephant steps are like her resolve
A blackbird trills her rousing dawn
Rounding a corner suddenly I see her
My stomach drops like a bucket into a well
Whatever strikes me I store up to tell her
All I know will be brought around to her
Her talk and nearness planted a lens in me
I am besotted with aiming it at everything

BEFORE THE GARLAND WILTS.... What use waiting for July Four Or August Fifteen for that matter And why at all this Nine September Waiting for rains, rains will not come We need our Hour of Freedom. Rainbow is receding farther and farther Now even August you do not remember What more exams you need to appear When you are already a Certified 'Pro'? Come this June, my love Let us make it on Fourth At least the taking of Oath Yes, flowers can wait And so can the rains And the cutting of cakes With the cherries can wait But let us meet at least on Fourth.

Thanks for seeing the theme of creativity here. My hoped-for creativity would make garlands for the eternal beloved.
