Destroyed - Poem by Andrea Edlund

my head spins
as she yells at me
my breaking heart
screams as she tells
me to move on
no straight up answers
i'm pulling teeth
to know the truth
hanging from a rope
holding onto
all my dreams
trying to focus
as i'm being
ripped apart
piece by piece
love still flows
from the depths
of my broken heart
years of abuse
cover the love
i've once known
trapped in a corner
too scared to move
smiles fade
as tears stream
seeking for purpose
lost in the unknown
torn between whats
fake and real
my heart screams
as she lets me go
