Do Not Feed The Poem Poem by Brian Mayo

Do Not Feed The Poem

Rating: 3.7

A poem should growl
and pace.
It should
test
the locks
and
hurl itself
against the bars.

It should roar
and
suddenly break-free,
making the crowd gasp.

And when it’s gone…

deep tracks
remain
where something magnificent
once dared to live.

I like this one. Poem as animal. You describe your philosophy here well. Very creative, fun, but also smart.
