A poem should growl
and pace.
It should
test
the locks
and
hurl itself
against the bars.
It should roar
and
suddenly break-free,
making the crowd gasp.
And when it’s gone…
deep tracks
remain
where something magnificent
once dared to live.
So that's free verse well, it certainly has a presence Write some more and throw in the odd alliteration and maybe a rhyme. good morning
