Don’t Lie To Yourself, ‘cause There’s Only One Person You Have To Answer To

Rating: 5.0

It always hits harder when your friends tell you to leave
And all the things that you pretend make you happy just make you scream
Twenty two gun salute ‘cause they’ve got one against my head
A million children crying, have no crib, have no bed
In my head, that’s what I hear, as my muscles begin to shake
A respiratory systematic machine, and your heart begins to break
Everywhere, shattered pieces in the air
On the ground, stepped into a closet full of despair
Receptions bad down here on the floor where I cry
White carpet, concrete’s colder, makes it easier to die
Makes it easier to see the blood flooding the basement
Covers up fear, regrets, what you used to see was pavement
Everyone I know looks down at me with dissent
Hopefully I find someone before you’re too hard to be missin’.

Call me naïve, but I always believed in something called love
And where I thought I’d find it was in my own backyard
But it seems that holding on just makes it harder and harder to see
That everything I believed and stood for is leaving me
Around me, I see nothing but cheating and kids getting stuck
In relationships ‘cause all they want is to find someone to f***
Consequences detrimental to themselves and to their health
Makes me wonder what love is, still I believe in something else
Something stronger, concrete, blistered souls can understand
Love means more than remembering a condom, take a hand
And put it to your heart and let them feel your heartbeat
Take your own and listen to it, and hear what you can’t see
When you truly love someone your mind will leave you free
And someday I might feel like this death is leaving me.

Risen to heights before pushed down an elevator shaft
I keep falling down though everyone else seems to grasp
This elemental instrumental fad called self-respect and confidence (not)
I guess I’ll never really understand the plan or what it meant (but)
Give me your hand, and I’ll give you my art
Because that will be easier to replace than my heart.

Truly a masterpiece.....the longer you hold on it really is harder to see straigh..to keep believing...my favorite line where you said to listen to your heart oce in a while was very insightful....each beat you hear turns from a silent lifelss of pain to a new day...try to look forward...try to pray...i believe you'll love again and yes i too believe that love is something far from the obvious...people will soon see it just takes time..it takes a lesson...a person...a day. wonderful writing never stop expressing your feelings..it brings life to your work of art^^ keep living on my friend...

Oh this IS good! The emotions are very well expressed. 'A million children crying, have no crib, have no bed In my head, that’s what I hear, as my muscles begin to shake A respiratory systematic machine, and your heart begins to break.' This feels like alot of anguish perhaps like on the brink of panic. However, regardless of how grim it may all seem I hope you don't give up on love. Cause it's the little things in life that can actually brighten up our souls the most. A smile from the right person when your having a crappy day. The compassion of a stranger who holds the door open when your hands are full. Or a seemingly routine hug from the person you love. All can provoke a phenomenon some would like to call happiness. Wishing you the best day ever Izzey Strange
