Downsizing Poem by Belle Wassermeister

Downsizing

Rating: 4.8

That's just what I need.
Downsizing.

In fact,
it is just
what I have been doing.

I topped the scales
at six hundred
and thirteen pounds.

Six months ago
I was a trim
five-fifty.

Two weeks ago
I slipped just under
five hundred pounds.

It has not been easy.
No more can I take
just now.

The rest of it
will just have to
WEIGHT.

A brave little poem, with subtle humor. Well done on your big effort to downsize.

'Downsizing' usually refers to buying a smaller house than the one you are living in. Weight on the body can be a problem. I put on weight very easily if I eat too many sweet foods. My life has been a struggle to keep my weight down. A fine poem.

You have the most fantastic sense of humor! Whether in your poetry or comments, it's fantastically original. No matter what you write me, it always makes me laugh within its intelligent undertones. You are entertaining and talentedly, adorable, even if you are a little overweight. I wish you well and happiness, always.
