Ego/Soul Poem by Eric Cockrell

Ego/Soul

Rating: 3.5

the ego spurts
onto fresh laid sheets,
pounds its chest and shouts,
'i have left my mark! '
yet the soul laughs quietly,
shakes the dust from its feet...
and turns with a grin,
knowing well the banter of fools!

The soul giggles at the bantering ego. The poem creates a picture using action oriented words(diction) . Excellent.

The smiles of the heavenly soul at the banter of the earthly, proud ego is excellently brought out in this short poem.
