Existentialism Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

Existentialism

Rating: 5.0

Grappling with survival are the two opposing sex,
The class the creed the politics and the economies,
Everything now in the world,
Least to say on race and religion,
And the west, different from the east

Grouping in vested interests
Humans have started to think and act selfish,
View each other in fear lust terror,
In hatred and qualm and with killing instinct
Growing what is existentialism
At the cost of slowly dying
Universal brotherhood and humanity

I cite your last lines here: At the cost of slowly dying Universal brotherhood and humanity..............exactly! Sartre is an example of what Existentialism is! As far as I am concerned, this started all in Europe. You excel in brilliance in this poem, Kesav! Thank you for sharing this impressive poem. I have enjoyed a very lot! A 10 Top Score! Existentialism is a philosophical way of talking. It sees humans, with will and consciousness, as being in a world of objects which do not have those two parts. The fact that humans are conscious of their mortality, and must make decisions about their life is what existentialism is all about. It is an atheistic philosophy (even though Kierkegaard was a deeply religious man) .

A very perceptive write on humanity. Yes, universal brotherhood is sacrificed due to selfishness and greediness of mankind. A well thought out and conveyed poem.
