Father's Day Like None Other Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Father's Day Like None Other

Rating: 4.7

It's Father's Day today
Not quite like yesterday
The silent enemy
Forcing us to be friends

It's day for fathers to share
Experience from wisdom
Sons and daughters to listen
Just sit and really listen

It's Father's Day like none other
Time for us to come together
To toast to small victories
Forget forgive the losses

It's Father's Day pray
Dogs playing with cats
Wolves not preying on sheep
Angels not in harm's way

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
To those of you who are fathers...congratulations! You brought into this world a gift from God. That gift should always be cherished. To those of you who are that gift...please remember that it is cherished. Always by God! If the gift has been damaged, please ask God to repair it. God always mends! Some repair takes a little longer...it always comes.

Definitely not your normal greeting card Father's Day poem. I like the gritty reality and the beautiful plea to forgive and move on- life is too short to relive the same day or days over and over and over until the grudges of the past swallows any promise of a better and different tomorrow. Excellent write straight from the heart and soul of one of God's followers.

Dear Poets: You have all overwhelmed me with joy with your very positive responses. I'm not certain where they all came from. They weren't always there. Sincerest thx to all of you!

And in those 2 long years, I somehow missed all the poets' comments. My sincerest apologies to you and all the other poets. It's always an honour for me to have my poetry read by you and the other esteemed poets!
