Fireflies die
Stars wink out of existence
Butterflies fall from the sky
Rivers take the path of least resistance
And so do you and I.

We do, don't we Tango? Yet when things really get rough, we show up and do what it takes. Thank you for reading and commenting. I will try to keep up the good work!
We do, don't we, Tango? Yet when the going gets really really rough, we show up and we do what needs to be done. Thank you for reading and commenting. I shall try to keep up the good work!
Everything on earth eventually comes to an end at some point
(cont.) [as I was saying....]: dependent on topography & type of 'rock' &/or 'soil' &/or vegetation (including roots) the water has to get through. I Will decide my path, dependent on my 'goal(s) ' & the resistance I may experience along my way. : ) bri

I like the stretch of these five images: fireflies and butterfliesmare on the same plane, but then r-i-v-e-r-s is a big leap forward, followed by an even bigger one one with stars. This Leaping Poem suggests two things: the reference from fireflies to stars is a continuum with EVERYTHING in between implied (!) and everything in our mortal; world is related, so what is true for a humble fly with a tiny illumination is also true for that nuclear furnace of fusion. And we too are part of that whole.
You comments are so poetic, with a huge dollop of science and a great stirring of philosophy. Yes, I did intend to imply the everything in between- -but you put it so well, Daniel! ! ! ! Leaping Poem. I like that term. The way you see the connections between things on earth is truly fascinating and a thing we should all learn to do. It would enrich our personal lives and enrich our writing. Thank you so much, Daniel, for taking the time for commenting- -you always widen my horizon.
