Firefly
Oh you precious firefly,
Holding yourself in low esteem
Your light is flashing the loveliest glow,
With a spell of lemon green
Oh majestic creature,
Do not become lost with the night
If you settle for anything lesser than love,
Off they will fly to light after light
It is true, young hearts they are anxious
And though the night seems quite dead
Make sure you signals are lofty and high,
Less your light turns to red

Beautiful piece, and well-crafted. Shut not your eyes, Less tears be shed... I wonder if you mean 'Lest tears be shed'. Or may be I don't see what the poet sees.
