First Love Poem by Riza Braholli

First Love

Rating: 4.5

Oh God, the first love
life that in a seed does wait.
It needs warm air above
from soil and stone to germinate

A fire that burns forever
left my eyes unclosed ever
it knocks at my silence to enter
at nightfall, in summer or winter.

You never did cool oh ember
Under my skin you push firewood
Oh longing that made me younger
Not letting me enter manhood.

I do say from me stay away
Running after a cloud I go
‘Cause of you fate denies me today
In my veins is just winter and snow.
