Flower 6 - Thetchi Or Ixora - The Red Jungle Flame
My 'Thetchi' garden plume,
Whistling away like a happy groom,
When they smile and bloom,
My heart shoos away all gloom.
Many petals stand together unblemished,
Red profusion of cool November,
Red fluorescence like a ravishing bouquet,
Merry red 'Jungle Flame' undaunted.
Flowers bold that catch your attention,
Blissful flowers that unite the lovers,
Bright cluster of flowers that glows like a flame,
Flowers of beauty and worship in temples.
‘Thetchi' flowers remind you of the promises made,
A lesson that one should never shirk or break,
A strong value to stand with strength and unity,
Together, you win the loving grace of Almighty.

Geeta, this is a beautiful poem on a beautiful flower. Thetchi in Kerala is widely used in all the temples and has sacred associations. Yes, together they stand in strength and unity! When they smile and bloom, My heart shoos away all gloom........................ This is exactly how I too feel on looking at flowers!
