Foolish Poem by Godfrey Morris

Foolish

Rating: 3.8

Have you ever done something you wish could be made undone?
Something unlike you that makes you wonder, what did I do?
I have done a few
I have squandered
I have lost
I still lose my way a couple times
repeated mistakes made
unfulfilled expectations had
I have been lonely
I have been disadvantaged
had none to repair my despair
I have failed and thou still I'm here
I hope to find some kind and swift redemption
Will time allow me to restore my life?
To be a thousand times more worthy
Will I finally turn from past misgivings?
And move forward towards a glimmering stolen sunset
I have been foolish far too long
but today, I now become a sage

Very true, we learn through our mistakes, we just hope that they don't ruin us before we become wise

I really like the meaning of this poem, of how we all err for it's only human and life is all about experience. What are mistakes but a wealth of experience. Ruth

i like it, you know the man who never made a mistake made nothing or hasnt lived a full life, mistakes are the best learning curves we have.

Only slightly negative thing I have to say about this poem is that its meaning covers up its words. But that can be a good thing as in this case. The meaning is so deep & meaningful (redundance! redundance!) it should teach us all something. Good job keep writing! ! ! :) -mye3 poet

yeah! of-course I Have done something I wish could be made undone, I am also foolish! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! fantastic sad poem, really Mistakes kill our heart, but they give life to our experience. whereas, Repeated mistakes kill our last experience, but they give life to our best experience any one ever had!

This is excellent...in my Human Nature poem I pretty much say the same thing only for me, I would rather learn from my mistakes, own them, how often do we as human beings even acknowledge our own fallecys, never, we tend to close an eye to them and think, yeah Ill handle that later, when later comes around its to late for some, Ive seen people die because of that, I dont want to be a statistic in society and fade away, I want to be a part of the human race....sorry I tend to babble....(SMILES) your an excellent poet keep it up. Thanks for sharing.
