For Things Will Never Be Same Again Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

For Things Will Never Be Same Again

Rating: 5.0

There lies a space within my heart that shall remain so empty,
As sadly now our days are at an end,
I know I never shall forget the time we spent together,
It is so hard to lose your dearest friend.
My words can never say enough or show the way I'm feeling,
So deep inside I try to mask the pain,
I cannot face tomorrow for the day will be so lonely,
For things will never be the same again.

I know you shall be happy when you walk into the sunset,
But pity those that you will leave behind,
Please don't look back to see my tears i wish that I was stronger,
And to all my sorrow I was blind.
So spread your wing and fly away above the dark horizon,
The wisdom of the stars you shall retain,
And as I gaze into the sky for me they shall be weeping,
For things will never be the same again.

As now I walk alone with just my shadow from the moonlight,
And that can never keep me company,
But yet I know where'er you walk an angel shall be with you,
And there's no better place that you can be.
So live your dreams you dreamed of and do all that you have longed for,
Find freedom now across the barren plain,
And spend your days in happiness yet you I shall remember,
For things will never be the same again.

I just love the last line of each verse, it just finishes off the poem beautifully. Mournful perhaps, but beauty is not always a happy thing. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
