From A Lens To A Memory Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

From A Lens To A Memory

Rating: 5.0

Photographs,
Are a peek into the past.
Memories in front of you,
To cherish, to last.

You see yourself so young again,
Right there upon a beach.
Your parents sitting next to you,
Their hugs now out of reach.

Photographs are precious,
They take you back to then,
A time of long lost history,
If only to live it again.

I have very few photographs from my childhood. We couldn't afford to buy film. We were so poor we couldn't even pay attention!

I'm so lucky to have lots of photographs. It's so nice to look through them from time to time. x

With modern digital images dominating our present culture, nothing beats a shoebox full of old photographs of our past

So true and sad. The past captured in stillness, of times that never last. Beautiful poem so sincerely natural and so true. thank you, Jayne.
