from "Curious Creatures"
August afternoon.
Our cat who wanted in
lies on the armchair
the whole of him crosswise
and looking like fur poured out.
Funny description! I laugh at the positions our cat gets itself into while relaxing. You might like my most recent poem, Anaconda Cat.
hey, laurie. i'm trying to see if ph will let me respond. and even if i have before, here's me thanking you for your comment. blessings! -glen
I can visualize the scene so well! The cat sprawling leisurely in your arm chair. 'Like fur poured out'....... love the expression!
thanks, valsa. seeing him this way he was, to me, the picture of a being utterly drained by the heat. -glen
A sweet Tanka dedicated to a cat. I can visualise the cat sitting on the arm chair.... :) .....10
i don't know that i can think of a better picture of utter listlessness than a cat so laid out as to appear he has no bones. thank you, geeta, for your comment. -glen

I would like to translate this poem
You caught the sprawl of a cat perfectly in that phrase " fur poured out" !
hey, susan! i'm going to try and respond and see if ph will let me. i've been having problems, wrote to ph about them, but have gotten no response. anyway, thank you as always for taking the time to read and comment on this poem of mine. when cats look like this, it's like they have no bones in their bodies. appreciatively, glen
