Siddhi Vinayaka of Siddhatek
Is the only temple,
Amongst the Ashtavinayaka temples,
Where the trunk of Ganesa
Faces the right side instead of left side,
Like in all other Ashtavinayaka temples.
This temple in Siddhatek is situated
Atop a hill along the serene Bhima river.
The idol facing the northern region is
Three feet tall and two and half feet wide.
This is a rare Ganesa temple as
The charming Ganesa is without a paunch.
Riddhi and Siddhi are seated
Majestically on Ganesa's thighs.
According to the legend,
Lord Vishnu meditated on Ganesa
Before he successfully vanquished,
The two terrible demons -Madhu and Kaitabha.
To make a ‘Pradakshina' or a Circle
Around the temple and the hillock,
The devotee has to walk for an hour or so.
There are ardent devotees who make
Twenty one ‘Pradakshinas of the temple
To achieve their desire or goal.
Singing and chanting the name of
Siddhi Vinayaka,
All obstacles and hurdles are removed,
All evils and sins are banished,
Siddhi Vinayaka fulfills all aspirations,
Siddhi Vinayaka blesses with happiness.

geeta, curious, i happened to look at this most recent posting of yours in this cycle and found a few things interesting. first, the image of ganesha that accompanies it is indeed fascinating—so human-looking overall. second, the image reminds me that our son isaac who passed was drawn to the stories and representations of this deity. third, the circling you describe of the devotees has parallels to muslims circling the kaaba as they make hajj, sufis twirling in circles, etc. -glen
Part - 2 Vinayaka, all obstacles and hurdles are removed, and Siddhi Vinayaka fulfills all aspirations, It is glad that you have published a book on Ganesa entitled " Jai Jai Sri Ganesa" .Many thanks dear madam for sharing this devotional poem with us.

How beautifully the poem explains the faith of the devotees to undertake tortuous Parikramas of this unique temple and about how the Lords showers his blessings upon his devotees to remove hurdles in their lives and also banishes all sins and evils trying to target them. Great poem that is full of devotion for Lord Ganesh in the form of Siddhi Vinayaka. Thank you, Geeta ji.
