Genius Child - Poem by Langston Hughes

This is a song for the genius child.
Sing it softly, for the song is wild.
Sing it softly as ever you can -
Lest the song get out of hand.

Nobody loves a genius child.

Can you love an eagle,
Tame or wild?
Can you love an eagle,
Wild or tame?
Can you love a monster
Of frightening name?

Nobody loves a genius child.

Kill him - and let his soul run wild.

Wow! Really this a beautiful, innocent and soft song for a child which is very motivational poem. If no one loves a genius child this provokes thought and brings sadness. Soul of genius child ever shines. A marvelous poem is chosen on this day as modern poem of the day....10 (Report) Reply

Nobody loves a genius child.//Kill him - and let his soul run wild. (I'm sorry for my English)
Dear Langston Hughes, I think that there is no need to say more about the essence of the reality of our human society that nobody loves. I like the trembling nervousness that unloads all your rage for this human destiny. Find the baby you love after dying. Riza

Tame is tale of fame in ideal!
Genius is trail of devil in wild!

    Two roads or one door
every code of life at last event becomes not sure

Not a great write. A genius child can be a handful. To kill his spirit is inane. The poem points this out. (Report) Reply

I think it was written after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Is that okay?
