Ghost Poem by Dave Alan Walker

Ghost

Rating: 4.8

As I wake up
And adjust my eyes
From deep sleep
To daylight
I see a ghost
In front of me

I say
Am I dead
Am I alive

He says
Your alive
But when your asleep
You are just like me
Moving around in a world
you can't feel

Thats why
I come and watch you sleep
So I can feel close
To what you see

A gentle and evocative poem. You may like to read my poem, I could not sleep, which is along a similar theme with a different take. Great work.

Excellent write... it suggests that reality is but a reflection of our dreams and vice versa! ... well done

Beautiful writing on sleep in a context I've never considered before, even though when I was eight I woke and saw a young boy watching me, around the time my nan passed over.., food for thought indeed. Karen

Astral projection. Visitation. I love the idea of the conscious mind transcending the physical body, either through death or meditation. For me this poem is potent in atmosphere.

Exactly, a man is like a dead when he is asleep. As per indian myth, the soul wonders when we are asleep.
