The greatest wisdom
is to know that we do not
know anything of God.
Without knowing the unknown
we shall bow down and pray.
Leave our theology and philosophy.
Be humble and prostrate in God's presence.
Submit our faculty of thinking,
and pray: "God free us from our illusions".
Hey, Tony! I definitely agree with the prayer in the title and final line of the poem. But while our finite selves can never comprehend the totality of our infinite God, don’t you think we can know God in part? As I understand the prologue to John’s gospel, a main thing God wanted in the incarnation was to give us the best picture possible of himself in the person, the life, of Jesus of Nazareth. Be blessed, brother. Glen

They say prayer or intense Bhakti is the best way, to know God. When you shed all your ego, the illusions automatically melt away. And then, you can see God standing in front of you. Thank you dear Tony for the lovely poem.....10
