Goldilocks, of fairy tale fame
is now no longer
only associated
with having strayed
into the neat home
of the three bears.
Our versatile banker friends
those over-imaginative
investment geniuses,
always on the prowl,
to uncover a new theory,
have coined a fresh one
“The Goldilocks Economy”.
It has nothing to do
with either her golden locks
or with the three bears.
Surprisingly, it refers
to the near perfect
temperature of
baby bear’s porridge.
Not too hot and not too cold
Our luminaries have hit
upon a new inflation measure
A Goldilocks Economy
is a benign one
where inflation
moves in a narrow band
Of two and three fourths percent,
Dodging fears of deflation
and ofcourse hyper-inflation too
Put simply - It is as ideal
as the temperature
Of the porridge! !
This is a very charming and humorous write, Sandra, wonderfully expressed and certainly told with tongue-in-cheek whimsy! You've up-dated this old fairytale to our modern times wonderfully and appealing well. Your very appealing poem was quite a delight to read! Carl.
Oh an another version of 'Game theory'...........If economists were so wise then why there is recession, why they were unable to see it? ....................trash trash trash theories...........Any way a good write.............
Fabulous theme and images. Smart and sophisticated writing. Wish the bankers matched your super intelligence. 10 Karin Anderson
